Alex Nichols

Strength Coach & Manual Practitioner

Ever since I started martial arts as a kid, I became fascinated with the physical and mental problem solving involved. With the injuries that have come from 20 years of wrestling, judo, and jiu jitsu, I've had a lot of physical problems to solve. Between multiple surgeries and various health care providers, time and again, I was frustrated with the lackluster care I would receive. With no results and an ongoing inability to play the sports and do the activities I loved, I dove into the field in my early twenties with the intent of solving my injuries. My love for being on the mats and long list of injuries was the initial catalyst for the work I now specialize in.

After years of studying what works and what doesn’t, I finally rehabilitated myself back to competing and training at a high level. This was all the evidence I needed given the demands of a sport like grappling. I have tremendous confidence in the system I use from the results I continue to have with myself and all the athletes and clients I work with. With over a decade of experience in the industry, I know there are a lot of people out there frustrated by their care and inability to do what they love without pain and dysfunction.

When I’m not teaching and training clients, I am lucky to be a part of the world class team of physical health experts at Functional Range Systems®. In my spare time I teach and train Jiu Jitsu at Steadfast Martial Arts, gravel ride, and spend as much time outdoors as I can.
